Agnes C. (Bruness) Stey
Agnes C. (nee Bruness) Stey, age 87, a resident of McHenry, and a former longtime resident of Ingleside, IL and Moutain Home Arkansas died Thursday, May 14, 2009 in McHenry with her family at her side. She was born in Trondheim, Norway on Jan 23, 1922 to Louis and Hilda (nee Albertson) Bruness and was united in marriage on September 6, 1941 in Chicago to Walter G. Stey. Agnes was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family, was formerly employed with Baxter Labs and McHenry Hospital as a nurses aid in the nursery. She enjoyed baseball, badminton, bowling, cards, and working in her yard and garden. She was a gifted painter, in the oil and acrylic mediums, seamstress and porcelain dolls maker. While living in Ingleside, she was a former member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Long Lake. She will be greatly missed by her children, Chrystine (Jim) Haynie of Johnsburg, IL, Randy (Patricia) Stey of Grayslake, IL; grandchildren, Dawne (Patrick) Smith of Johnsburg, Lori (Rick) Richter of Wonder Lk., Erin (Loren) Lundtveit of Wadsworth, IL, Beth (Shane) Brennan of Wadsworth, IL; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Corey Smith of Johnsburg, Claire, Dana and Evan Lundtveit of Wadsworth, IL, Cadence and Lane Ann Brennan; by her brother, Hally (Marge) Bruness of Westchester, IL. She was preceded by her sister, Lillian Hahaj; and her brother-in-law, Frank Hahaj. Visitations will be on Tuesday, May 19th from 9:30-11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services conducted at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Schneider officiating at the K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lk. Rd., Fox Lake, IL.
